Pattonsburg, a unique and progressive community, offering tremendous opportunities, in todays unique business climate. With its central location...Pattonsburg is within a day's drive of 49 percent of the US Population and 42 percent of ALL Manufacturing facilities! Making it very easy to offer "next day" service to virtually anywhere in the Continental United States....as well as a significant portion of Canada or Mexico!

Although the City of Pattonsburg, has a very rich history, dating back to the early/mid 1800's. The community as it now stands, in its present location... is barely more than TEN years old!

Following the devastating floods of 1993, which all but destroyed many communities in the nations heartland. Pattonsburg chose to take the initiative, and pick up the entire community...and move it to a new location, far from any future danger of flooding.

Pattonsburg, as it stands today....is a blend of many different design options for the community...which has resulted in a community with the traditional warm and friendly rural atmosphere. But at the same time...allows the community, a chance to take advantage of many forms of new "cutting edge" technology,.......the likes of which have only recently began appear...in major metropolitain areas!

Probably the most "unique" thing about this community, that first time visitors will notice...is the monolithic dome structures...which house the local school district, and dominates the western skyline! Although a bit "futuristic" in appearance, and certainly not what anyone would expect to find in your "typical" rural community....not only offered the school district, significant energy savings. It also offered the most safety to the students housed within....by virtue of its shape... providing incredible resistance and protection from severe storms and/or tornados!

While those buildings may quickly catch the visitors eye...it is the things that go virtually unnoticed...that truly make the community unique. Things such as,..... the fact that Pattonsburg was one of the very first communities in the ENTIRE nation...to adopt "alternative energy" ordinances and covenants within the City Charter! The fact that ALL commercial buildings, in the downtown area....use deep well, ground source heat pumps to provide geothermal heating and cooling for the shops within! The fact that stormwater runoff from streets and parking lots, is cleaned and filtered through the use of a "Riparian waterway system".

These technological innovations and many more...all work together in harmony....to make Pattonsburg a "Great place to call home"...for residents and business owners alike!
