Hamilton County Alliance Contact: A 2004 study by American Cities Business Journals found Hamilton County to have one of the top quality of life environments in the Midwest. Results of the study are incorporated into this web site. Hamilton County is the leading suburban county in Greater Indianapolis as established by its at-place employment (130,000). Additionally, more than 25,000 workers commute into Hamilton County for employment. This figure more than doubles any other suburban county in the region. A 2006 report by The Boyd Company highlights the operating cost of a 250-employee headquarters facility in Hamilton County versus 12 other major metro markets. This study is available through the Alliance website (www.hcalliance.com). Hamilton County boasts one of the highest educated populations in the U.S. Nearly 50 percent of the county's adult population reports a B.A. degree or better. Hamilton County remains one of the fastest growing counties in the U.S. The county's current population stands at 250,000 with an increase of 38 percent since 2000. The county is the fourth fastest growing county in the Midwest and ranks 29th in the U.S.
