The Livingston County Development Group is a focused organization whose mission is to facilitate investment by the private sector in Livingston County. We are a network of professionals dedicated to becoming your site selection consultant, your project manager, your financial analyst and your own personal lobbyist, all rolled into one. We can be as much, or as little, of your partner in growth as you need us to be. The point is that you drive the process, and make the decisions that are best for your business.

The assistance that the Group offers is limited to certain kinds of businesses. These limitations are set by both State law and by local policy. In general, the Group works only with manufacturing, industrial, warehouse and distribution, research and development, and corporate office projects. Under special circumstances, major tourism facilities may be considered. Generally, retail and service businesses are not eligible for the direct assistance that the Livingston County Development Group provides, but can be offered other forms of assistance through one of our Team members

The Livingston County Development Group has three major functions. The Group (1) fosters economic growth to create job opportunities for County residents; (2) generates additional tax revenues; and (3) diversifies our tax base. We operate as many distinct departments under the leadership and direction of the Livingston County Economic Development Office which acts as your "one stop shop" for access to the Group.

We own, operate or market sites and buildings throughout the County and invest in targeted infrastructure to locate growing businesses. Through the County's investment arm, the Livingston County Industrial Development Agency, the County provides direct and indirect financial programs and incentives along with a variety of project and technical assistance. Our workforce and training arm links you to available workforce and training opportunities. Our Environment and Permitting arm guides developers through permits and reviews while our Health and Wellness unit offers workplace wellness clinics, occupational hazard assessments and assistance with emergency response planning.

Sound and strategic planning, the support and commitment of the Livingston County Board of Supervisors, along with our other private and public sector allies and the dedication of employees to professionalism, organization and teamwork, have enabled us to implement growth strategies. These include a business education alliance, industrial parks, cooperative marketing, micro enterprise assistance, infrastructure development, commercial revitalization, business retention and financing programs.
