FAQ’s For
Users
Q. How do I find available space that fits my need?
A. You do not have to be a SiteFinder Member to search for available
properties
in Connecticut. If you are looking for an existing building, click
Building Search
on the top navigation menu, fill out Options 1 through 6 and click Submit to see
properties that fit within your requirements. For available land, click
Site Search.
Q. What if my query returns no results?
A. If nothing currently matches your criteria, please fill out our
Active Needs Form
so our Members can try to match your requirement. Enter as many details about
your criteria as possible and explain your situation to get the best possible
result.
FAQ’s For Members
Q. My property is in the wrong location on the map.
A. You can go in and move your property on the map. Log in to the
Member Administration area. Click on the yellow Edit button under FastMap
and click on the property you want to edit. Change the "CLICK MAP TO"
function in the drop down menu to "Identify", then click on the map in the
location your property should be. When it is in the correct location then click
"Accept".
Q. How do I upload an image for my new property?
A. After you have entered and submitted the property information
under
"Add Building" and returned to the Member Administration area, click on
the green Upload button under Logo/Image1. Choose the newly entered
property from the list and follow the instructions for uploading. Repeat for
other images or files. You
do not need to upload your company logo if it
is already there.
Q. Do I have to resize my image?
A. The main image (Image1) that appears on the Property Profile
will
be scaled to 450 x 225 pixels. Therefore, to avoid distortion of your
photos please try to size them as close to 450 x 225 as possible. It
does not have to be exact. Image 2, 3 and 4 will upload at any size,
but will be best viewed at 600 pixels wide.
Q. I cannot log
into the Member Administration area.
A. If you are having trouble logging into the Member
Administration area, make
sure you are using a space if your username is two words. Also know that
your
password is case sensitive. Contact us if you are unsuccessful in logging
in.
Q. I need to
change my email/company contact information.
A. When you log in to the Member Administration area, scroll all
the way to the
bottom of the edit buttons, you will see a yellow Modify button under Company
Profile. Click to open your profile and make any changes necessary.
You may
also type in more information about your company in this section.
Q. My web address
does not show on my listings.
A. Go into the Member Administration area and click on the Modify
button under
Company Profile and type your web address in. It will automatically appear
on all
of your listings.
Q. The
demographics and Fast Map button are not showing up on my property’s fact sheet.
A. On the new system you must activate Fast Map for each new
property and
then the demographics and Fast Map button will appear on your property profile.
To do this log into the Member Administration area, click on Activate or Edit
Fast
Map. You should see a list of all of your properties and a Yes or
No, meaning yes
it has a map activated, or no it doesn’t. If the property in question says
no, click
on the property address and the map will pop up. If it finds the location
on the map
and is correct, click Accept. If it says “Address not found,” pull
from the drop down
menu to “Identify” and click the spot on the map where the property is located.
If
it is in the correct spot click Accept.
Q. How do I
update my Expired Listings?
A. Expired listings are on the same Modify Buildings button as your
Active
Properties in the Member Administration area.
Q. Where can I
find the Active Needs or the New listing added to the market?
A. Active Needs and properties New To Market are viewable
in your Member
Administration area once you log in.
Q. Why is ceiling
height now required when I enter or edit my property?
A. Ceiling height is now a required field on Add\Modify entry
forms in the Member
Administration area. This allows users the ability to search by ceiling
height. If
you do not know the ceiling height just put 0.
Q. My calendar
will not pop up when I try to enter the expiration date.
A. The new Add Building and Add Site entry forms in the Member
Administration
area require that you choose the expiration date from a calendar that appears
in a "pop-up" dialog box. If your calendar is not popping up, please make
sure
that your computer’s “Pop-up Blocking” software is disabled for our site only.
There should be a function on every Pop-up Blocking software program that
allows you to do this.
