Description: |
1. KANSAS INDUSTRIAL TRAINING PROGRAM (KIT): Grants to assist in job training programs, including pre-employment and on the job training. Must create at least 5 new jobs. Covered training costs are negotiated with the KIT program.
2. KANSAS INDUSTRIAL RETRAINING PROGRAM (KIR): Grants to provide retraining assistance of existing employees. Must have at least 5 existing employees. Covered training costs are at the discretion of the program.
3. IMPACT TRAINING PROGRAM: Grants for training related expenses and also capital expenses associated with new and expanding businesses. There are two components to the IMPACT Program: SKILL and MPI. SKILL funds can be used to pay approved training-related costs such as instructors, course development, materials, training facilities, and others. MPI funds may be used to pay for eligible capital expenses. Eligible costs can include equipment and building purchases and other qualified costs. |
Eligibility Requirements: |
1. Must be an eligible business. Must create at least five new jobs. Must all required applications. Funding is first-come, first-serve.
2. Must be an eligible business. Must retrain at least five employees and must meet certain wage requirments.
3. Must be a qualified business. The program is typically reserved for projects that hire at least 100 new jobs at a high-than-average wage. May also be used for job retention projects that retrain a minimum of 250 existing employees and incur at least $50 million in capital costs. |
