Description: |
1. MAINE QUALITY CENTERS: State-financed education/training in support of job creation as well as customized recruitment and guaranteed fast-track training designed to employer specs. Offered at no cost to company and delivered at state's seven community colleges.
2. GOVERNORS'S TRAINING INITIATIVE: Partial reimbursement for cost of non-routine training that contributes to workforce expansion or retooling of existing workers.
3. APPRETENTICESHIP PROGRAM: Customized, systematic on-the-job training program and related classroom instruction; pays $100/course for two courses a semester.
4. PRE-APPRETENTICESHIP PROGRAM: Two years of customized high school academics and 1,000 hours of on-the-job training.

Eligibility Requirements: |
1. New or expanding businesses creating a minimum of 8 new full-time jobs with benefits. Consortia of businesses also eligible.
2. Must pay wages equal to or above 85% of average wage for that occupation in given labor market, or contribute 50% or more of the premium cost of employee health insurance, with possible exemptions for <25 employees.
3. Business must have registered apprenticeship positions.
