MINNESOTA JOB SKILLS PARTNERSHIP (MJSP) PROGRAM: Program developed to assist Minnesota businesses and accredited universities partner together to develop training programs for new and existing employees.Three compnents to the program: 1. The Partnership Program is the major component of the MJSP. May receive grants for training costs and educational infrastructure. Total grant amount is $400,000. 2. Pathways Program is a training program where businesses partner with an accredited institution of higher learning to provide training to low income individuals or are making the transition from public assistance to work. Total maximum grant amount is $400,000. 3. A Predevelopment Grant assists in the development of a project that will address the needed skills and education needed for high-wage, high-growth and high -skill occupations, businesses and industries. Maximum grant amount is $50,000. Will be deducted from total MJSP grant when approved. |
Eligibility Requirements: |
1 & 3 All training projects must have at least one business in partnership with an accreditied education institution. Must have matching funds on 1:1 ratio. Requests for wage subsidies and tuition reimbursement are not eligible. Projects average 12 months to 3 years. For the Pathways Project, individuals must be at 200% of federal poverty level and provide employment with benefits and a defined career path. |
