Incentive Title: Investment Credits
Description: 1. INVESTMENT TAX CREDIT A 3% investment tax credit is available for qualified new investments. The credit can offset up to 50% of your state income tax liability and may be carried forward up to 14 years. Investments made after 2003, the qualified business may elect a 2 year exemption of all personal property taxes. Tax payer must elect either the credit or the exemption, but not both. 2. BROADBAND EQUIPMENT INVESTMENT CREDIT A credit of 3% up to $750,000 against income tax liability is allowed for qualified broadband equipment. The credit may be carried forward for 15 years and is transferable. 3. HEADQUARTERS CAPITAL INVESTMENT CREDIT A 6% credit of the amount of qualified investment can be taken against income tax liability. The credit shall not exceed $5 million dollars in any one taxable year. 4. SMALL BUSINESS INVESTMENT TAX CREDIT A credit of 3.75% of qualified investments are allowed against income tax liability. The credit shall not exceed 62.5% of the tax liability not exceed $1,250,000 in any one taxable year.
Eligibility Requirements: 1. Must be an eligible business investing in eligible equipment as defined by IRS Code section 46(c) and 48. 2. Must be an eligible business having qualified broadband equipment as defined by Idaho statutes and meet all other regulatory requirements. 3. Must be a headquarters making qualified investments and meet all other requirements. 4. Must be a qualified business. Must make qualified investments. This credit is in lieu of the normal investment tax credit. Must meet all other eligibility requirements.
