Incentive Title: Discretionary Grants
Description: 1) TEXAS ENTERPRISE FUND This discretionary fund can be used for infrastructure development, community development, job training programs and other business incentives. 2) HALF-CENT SALES TAX FUNDS Several communities administer funds generated by a half-cent sales tax. A portion of these funds are designated for incentives for companies expanding or locating in the community. The amount of the incentive is determined by a qualifying company's capital investment in the community and the number of jobs being created. 3) CHAPTER 380 FINANCING This financing authorizes municipalities to provide a grant or loan of city funds or services to qualifying projects. The grant or loan portion can be used for a variety of projects. The services portion allows the use of city staff, city facilities, and other services at minimal or no charge. This financing is at the sole discretion of the municipality.
Eligibility Requirements: 1) To be eligible for Texas Enterprise Fund support, a project must demonstrate a significant return on the state's investment and must be approved by the governor. 2) Must be a qualifying business. 3) Requirements are at the discretion of the municipality.
