Mercer County is situated in the midsection of Ohio, adjacent to the Western Indiana border. Celina, with a population of 10,300 is the county seat. Mercer County is located 30 minutes from Lima, Ohio 50 minutes from Dayton, Ohio and 45 minutes from Ft. Wayne, Indiana. The city of Celina is located on Grand Lake St. Marys which is one of the largest man-made lakes in the United States. It covers 13,500 acres and provides boundless recreational opportunities.

Agriculture plays a major role in our economy with 1,200 farms and 270,000 acres of farmland. Mercer County is in the top ten Ohio counties in farm production. Mercer County schools are unsurpassed and rank as some of Ohio's best schools. Our students excel in academics with an average graduation rate of 98 . Athletic excellence abounds with over 50 state championships. A high percentage of these athletes are also honor roll students.

Mercer County has a highly skilled, motivated workforce. Many of our existing businesses started in humble beginnings such as a garage or basement and have evolved into businesses with over 20 or 50 employees. They have become the backbone of our economy. Mercer County Community Development has supported these companies and provided assistance in many forms. One of our best tools has been the county revolving loan fund which is the largest RLF in the State of Ohio. We now have a portfolio of 10,000,000 and recipient companies have created 1,000 new jobs with the funds.
