Defiance is the commercial and industrial hub of the six-county Northwest Ohio region. It is conveniently located within a forty minute drive of Toledo and Fort Wayne. Cleveland, Cincinnati, Detroit and Chicago are all within a half-days drive from Defiance.

An excellent system of state and U.S. highways serves the transportation needs of the community. Intersecting in Defiance County are state routes 2, 15, 18, 49, 66, 111, 127, 281, and 424. U.S. 24, a major route between Fort Wayne and Toledo, passes the city of Defiance to the north.

The Ohio Turnpike (I-80/I-90) spans the state from east to west and is only 20 miles north of Defiance County.

Defiance industry is served by Maumee and Western RR and CSX RR. Eleven truck lines provide intrastate and interstate shipping. The Port of Toledo, a gateway for global trade, located on Lake Erie, is only 50 miles away.
