Hudson Valley Economic Development Corporation Contact: Established in 2003, the Hudson Valley Economic Development Corporation - HVEDC - is a public-private organization that markets a nine-county region as a prime location for business. The $7.5 million marketing initiative is being funded by Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corporation. Serving as a one-stop shop for businesses considering a relocation or expansion in the region, HVEDC works closely with the Empire State Development Corporation, environmental groups such as Scenic Hudson and Hudson River Valley Greenway, utilities and economic development groups in the eight counties: Westchester, Rockland, Putnam, Orange, Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan and Greene. HVEDC focuses on marketing buildings and sites that have already gone through the local land-use planning process and have been identified for development or redevelopment.
